It can also be downloaded as a PDF file from the website.Plans submitted for new office, chandlery, toilets & showers26 January 2010 Plans have been submitted for planning approval for our new office, toilets & showers and Chandlery Building. This will also have a "Club lounge" and laundery facility.We have also managed to get two lifeboats taking permanent berths in the Marina starting on 1st Decemebr 2009 Scarlet Oyster Crew back in Inverness13 November 2009 The skipper and 1st Mate of "Scarlet Oyster" revisited Inverness Marina this week using a different sort of transport ! They have just finished cycling from Lands End to John o`Groats.If that was not enough they climbed Snowdon,Scafell and Ben Nevis as well on the way! This was all done to raise funds for the Ellen MacArthur trust which is helping children who are in recovery from cancer. Geoff and Ann (and Musto ) accompanied Cath and Karen up Ben Nevis on a glorious winter`s day with lots of snow 2ND WINTER06 October 2009 After a busy first summer we are filling up quickly as more and more visitors realise how sheltered the marina is. Having a 45 ton Travel hoist is proving to be a big attraction for winter berthing (on the hard or in the water) Ellen MacArthur opens Marina17 July 2009 Ellen MacArthur arrived with Scarlet Oyster on a round Britain Voyage with the Ellen MacArthur Trust. A very successful visit with a well attended lecture on Friday and a Grand Opening on Saturday that was really popular. About 3000 people attended and we raised a substantial amount of money for the Ellen MacArthur Trust "Scarlet Oyster" arrives for 5 day stopover at Inverness Marina08 July 2009 The Ellen McArthur Trust boat arrived yesterday. They will be in Inverness until Sunday 12th July. Ellen will be officially opening the new Marina at 11.30 on Saturday 11th July and there will be an Open Day from 1100 until 1600 with various events and demonstrations. Everyone is welcome to attend.Travel Hoist up and running05 June 2009 Our 45 ton travel hoist has been operating for 1 week now.Boats can be lifted for service, antifouling, or surveying. Please call to book your lift. On the 10th/11th July Ellen MacArthur will be opening the marina and we will be having an open day. The Ellen MacArthur Trust Skandia Round Britain Voyage of Discovery10 March 2009 The Ellen MacArthur Trust is a charity that aims to inspire young people's cancer recovery through sailing. In 2009 they are embarking on their biggest project to date, The Ellen MacArthur Trust Skandia Round Britain Voyage of Discovery. The voyage will take over 85 young people on 17 legs round Britain, re-tracing their founding patron`s original voyage.They will be visiting Inverness Marina on 9th -13th July.Their main sponsors Skandia will be organising events in the marina. Inverness Marina are proud to be able to help and assist with such a worthy cause. The aim of this voyage is to increase public awareness to this charity which is doing so much to help young people. Contact Tesco direct First Christmas at Inverness Marina09 January 2009 A very wintery Christmas with lots of frost and high winds.We are pleased to say that the shelter was perfect (60 knots of wind one day !!) The pontoons were slippery (that`s a sign that it was too cold to go sailing !)but a few hardy souls braved the elements over Hogmanay.Perhaps a winter series next year would bring out a few more boats?All pontoons and fingers fitted02 December 2008 Today, even with a spell of very wintry weather, we have installed all of the berths. A week`s wiring of the new pontoons will see the marina complete. Over the last few weeks we have had very strong winds and can report that the marina is very well sheltered from all swell. Otters make new home in Inverness Marina06 November 2008 Apart from many new berth holders arriving, a pair of otters have "moved in"! They have built their holt in the rock armour and are seen regularly in the marinaElectricity and Water for the Pontoons08 October 2008 Water is now connected on pontoons and electricity will be connected at end of October when toilet /shower block will be operational.First boats arrive in Inverness Marina!26 September 2008 Finally we are ready for boats! The first boat arrived a day after pontoons where finished!The first boats arrived this week. Security gate is now fitted and hard standing area is surfaced and fenced. A lot of interest in the marina and new bookings for berths confirmed. More progress as we approach September opening15 September 2008 A and B legs are now in position and electricity and water bollards are being fitted. Security gate and access bridge is being fitted next week.Toilet and shower block is due at end of October. We are still on schedule to welcome berth holders at end September Piling completed ahead of schedule20 August 2008 Piling has now been completed ahead of schedule by Currie Brothers Ltd from Okney. A very reliable company who worked very efficiently and competently to provide the structure for the pontoons.The pontoons for"A" leg are now in place together with fingers for this. Other pontoons are due to be fitted by end August together with relevant fingers. We are still on schedule for opening end September. Pontoon contract awarded, walls up and still on schedule12 June 2008 Varis Engineering have been awarded the contract to supply pontoons to the marina. The retaining wall is now complete and piling will be started in 1st week of July and pontoons laid in August. We are on schedule for opening end September 2008. We continue to get daily interest and forward bookings.We are now taking bookings for berths!23 February 2008 We are now taking bookings, the marina is not full yet but we are getting daily enquiries for berths, if you are interested please complete the booking form or contact us and we will get back to you.Construction of Inverness Marina well under way15 January 2008 The constructions of the ground works for the marina are well advanced and should be completed for April 2008. The tenders for the construction of the marina have been submitted and a contractor will be appointed in February 2008, we are planning to have the marina operational by September/ October 2008.As the construction progresses we will keep you informed and update the construction photos. |
